Washington Aiki Kwai

The word Aikido is written with three kanji. The first is Ai (合, pronounced "eye") which means to harmonize, unite or come together. The second, Ki (気, pronounced "key"), means energy, spirit, mind. Ki may refer to one's own spirit and in the largest sense, to the spirit of the Universe. The last character is Do (道, pronounced "doh") which means path or way. This character signifies that Aikido is a way to live one's life. Read all together, Aikido can be taken to mean "The Way of Harmonizing With the Spirit of the Universe."

Our current classes are for teens and adults. Anyone between the ages of fourteen and a spry ninety who is seeking a place that offers practical self-defense and/or ki training from experienced instructors should look no further.

We are located at 4501 Interlake Ave N #6 and our head instructor has been teaching Aikido and serving the Seattle community for over forty years. We hope you will join us in further discovering the spirit of Aikido.
